Copy Paste Web Data (F12)
This is a new page in version 2025r03, and allows for information copied from a web page to be pasted and imported into GDAT.
Not all sites are supported, and it is not intended to be a mass import function, and the Import Templates remain and are recommended for mass imports.
Note: This page will not work for custom sources, only the in built sources specifically available within the DNA Source drop down menu located on this page.
This page currently imports data for the source codes 23, FT, An, and MH. Each source allows for different data to be imported, dependant on what is visible to the user.
Source codes 23 and An each allows for Relatives and ICW information to be imported, while MH and FT source codes can each import Relatives, Segments, and ICW information.
The process for collecting and importing data is pretty much identical for all sources, and all sources require the Chrome browser to be used.
Adding Relatives:
Navigate to your Match List. Choose your desired display / sort settings and wait for the page to fully populate correctly.
Select the whole page (Ctrl+A), and copy everything (Ctrl+C).
In GDAT, ensure you are on the correct profile for the match list you you just copied.
Set the source, and click the "Paste Relatives" button. The lower portion of the display will populate with the extracted information.
Click on "Add/Update Relatives".
When complete, the upper portion will clear, and there will be a message displayed in the center bottom of the GDAT window informing how many records were added / updated and how many were skipped.
Adding Segments:
Navigate to the location where you can view the text version of the individual segments shared between you and your match. Ensure that the shared DNA segments text based information is open and displayed.

In GDAT, ensure you are on the correct profile for the match list you you just copied.
Set the source, and click the "Paste Segments" button. The lower portion of the display will populate with the extracted information.

Adding ICWs:

In GDAT, ensure you are on the correct profile for the match you you just copied.
Set the source, and click the "Paste ICWs" button. The lower portion of the display will populate with the extracted information.
Click on "Add/Update ICWs".
When complete, the page will clear, and there will be a message displayed in the center bottom of the GDAT window informing how many records were added / updated and how many were skipped.
Source Code: MH
It is essential that you add your MH Member ID to the F10 Preferences page before starting. You will not be able to proceed without it. This number can be found by clicking on your name in the top right hand corner of the MH site and viewing the "Your Account ID" number at the bottom of that drop down menu. Enter this number into the "MH Member ID" field in F10 Preferences.
If you have pasted incorrect data and wish to clear the data and not import, simply change either the profile, or the source, and the data will clear.
Import Status
In the last untitled column of the lower portion of the F12 display, a number of different status indicators can be shown. They include:
New: the match is new to the database
Merged: the relative's match key has been found merged with another relative, is not set to primary, and this record will therefore be skipped
Duplicate: this segment is already in the database for this relative and will be ignored.
Error Messages
While using this page, there are a number of possible pop up messages that may occur. These may include:
Select Source First: means what it says, select the needed source in the top left corner
Copy/Paste Error: gives possible causes for the paste fail, check each in turn and correct where needed.
This can occur when the wrong profile has been selected, when the wrong source has been selected, or when the wrong paste button is used for the data being pasted.
